New Year’s greeting from President Kazuo Inamori
I wish you a Happy New Year!
I am very grateful for your enormous support to the activities of Inamori Foundation last year.
In May 2017, we succeeded in an inaugural event “Kyoto Prize at Oxford” where people enjoyed an opportunity to directly contact with the wisdom of Kyoto Prize laureates who gave their lectures at Oxford; the Inamori Forum was established in the public space at the Blavatnik School of Government in the University of Oxford. I am firmly convinced that this was realized due to the outcome as people in Oxford fully understood the philosophy of Kyoto Prize and our ideology and we could share mutual values. I am deeply moved for the fact that both parties had united hope for happiness of human society beyond nationality, race and religions.
In February 2018, we will cosponsor as social contribution activity “Hamburg Ballet Kyoto Performance” headed by John Neumeier, a world-class choreographer and 2015 Kyoto Prize laureate in Arts and Philosophy. In August 2018, KUIP: Kyoto University-Inamori Foundation Joint Kyoto Prize Symposium will be held in Tokyo for the first time. All past events were placed in Kyoto.
We the Inamori Foundation would like to continue to cherish good relationship with people not only in Japan but over the world through the various activities of the Kyoto Prize, Research Grants, and Social Contributions. I would like to thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
