The Inamori Foundation was founded on April 12, 1984, by Kazuo Inamori (Founder of Kyocera Corporation) and began its operations in 1985.
The Kyoto Prize is an international award of Japanese origin, presented to individuals who have made significant contributions in the fields of science and technology, as well as the arts and philosophy.
Out of the sincere wish to help young scholars who will shape the future, the Inamori Foundation supports their research activities to allow them to satisfy their insatiable curiosity.
To ascertain a future direction of humanity, the Inamori Foundation creates opportunities for people to encounter wisdom and spiritually-rich experiences from around the world and to mingle with people from diverse backgrounds.
