2009 Kyoto Prize Symposium (KPS) to be held in San Diego, California, U.S.A. |
The Inamori Foundation is pleased to announce the 2009 Kyoto Prize Symposium honoring the 2008 laureates to be held from Wednesday, March 18th to Friday, March 20th, 2009 in San Diego, CA, U.S.A. The internationally awarded Kyoto Prize originates from Kyoto, Japan, with the Kyoto Prize Symposium, celebrating its 8th anniversary this year, exemplifying one of the Inamori Foundationfs social contributions to the world. The 2009 Symposium in San Diego will be hosted and managed by the Kyoto Symposium Organization and co-hosted by San Diego State University, the University of California, San Diego, the University of San Diego, local communities, and the Inamori Foundation. Year by year the Symposium is increasingly becoming recognized as one of the city's anticipated events.

Kyoto Prize Congratulatory Symposium with the 2008 Laureates in Toronto, Canada |
In honour of the 24th (2008) awarding of the Kyoto Prize, two Canadians, Dr. Anthony James Pawson and Dr. Charles Margrave Taylor, have been chosen as the first Canadians ever to receive this distinguished award. We are delighted to announce a congratulatory symposium with the laureates to be held on February 18, 2009, in Toronto, Canada. The event will be co-hosted by the University of Toronto, where Dr. Pawson serves as Professor, Montrealfs McGill University, where Dr. Taylor holds the position of Professor Emeritus, the Ministry of Research and Innovation, the Government of Ontario, the MaRS Centre (Medical and Related Sciences) and the Inamori Foundation.
