The 2024 Kyoto Prize Symposium (KPS) will be held in San Diego, California on March 13 and 14.
Dr. Masaki Kashiwara, the 2018 Kyoto Prize laureate in Basic Sciences, was selected as the recipient of the 42nd Kyoto Prefecture Cultural Award (Distinguished Achievement) on January 5, 2024.
A symposium entitled "Understanding the World through Mathematical Modeling of Infectious Diseases" was held at Kyoto University Clock Tower Centennial Hall in commemoration of the visit to Japan of Dr. Brian T. Grenfell, the 2022 Kyoto Prize Laureate in Basic Sciences.

The 2023 Kyoto Prize Presentation Ceremony was held at the Kyoto International Conference Center on November 10, with 750 guests attending. It was held for the first time in four years, for the ceremony had been canceled after the 2019 Kyoto Prize due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Ryuzo Yanagimachi, the 2023 Kyoto Prize Laureate in Advanced Technology, passed away at the age of 95 on September 28 JST. We would like to express our most sincere condolences.
Dr. Antony Hoare, the 2000 Kyoto Prize laureate in Advanced Technology, was selected as a recipient of the Royal Medal (Physical). Many congratulations on this prestigious recognition!
