Summary
This study aims to explore the meaning of the actions and practices that people in Africa have accumulated in the aftermath of conflicts. Through this exploration, it investigates an ethics of coexistence after conflict, while also presenting the requirements and desirable examples for post-conflict representation. Specifically, the study examines practices after the Rwandan genocide, focusing on memorial museums and monuments, and contrasts them with practices of reconciliation discussed in Western moral, political, and legal philosophy. By doing so, the study seeks to find reference points for post-conflict coexistence from the practices that people in Africa have accumulated. This is the goal that the research aims to achieve.

Message

I am greatly encouraged to have been selected as a recipient of the research grant. I have primarily studied moral, political, and legal philosophy. In this research, however, building on this background, I approach the issue in a different way. I hope to suggest one possible path for thinking about reconciliation and representation.
