Comprehensive analysis of the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms of hepatitis B virus mediated by novel host factors
Keyword
Summary
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a DNA virus associated with the development of hepatocellular carcinoma. Current treatments for HBV infection include pegylated interferon and nucleotide analog reverse transcriptase inhibitors; however, neither therapy can completely eliminate viral DNA. As a result, viral proteins continue to be produced, which may contribute to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma. Therefore, the development of new therapeutics that suppress HBV transcription is highly anticipated, but the molecular mechanisms underlying HBV transcription remain incompletely understood. In this study, I aim to elucidate the regulatory mechanisms of HBV transcription, focusing on a newly identified host factor.
