Creation of Light-responsive Cyborg Microtubules and Dynamic Control of Their Function
Keyword
Summary
Creating cyborg proteins using artificial molecules could provide a novel strategy for externally and reversibly controlling their outstanding functions with high precision. In this study, I will chemically modify microtubules, cytoskeletal proteins, using the photoresponsive artificial molecule azobenzene to achieve light-induced reversible control of their assembly and disassembly processes. Furthermore, by exploiting this control mechanism, I aim to create novel dynamic functions that do not exist in nature.

Message

I will continue working to advance the interdisciplinary field at the interface of supramolecular chemistry and biophysics.
