Design and validation of fluorescent nanoprobes toward a novel method for wall shear stress measurement
Keyword
Summary
While the measurement of wall shear stress is an essential fundamental technology for evaluating the mechanical properties of flow fields, conventional methods have faced challenges such as high invasiveness and low spatial resolution. In this research, toward resolving these issues, we will design fluorescent nanoprobes that change their emission wavelength in response to applied force and experimentally verify their responsiveness to wall shear stress. Through this study, we aim to contribute to the establishment of non-contact, high-spatial-resolution measurement technology applicable to a wide range of fields, including fluid engineering, medical engineering, and rheology.

Message

In this research, we will work on the fundamental evaluation toward developing a novel wall shear stress measurement method using fluorescent nanoprobes. Leveraging the support from this grant, we will steadily accumulate experimental verifications one by one.
