Photochemical Modification of Proteins at Methionine Residues
Keyword
Summary
In this study, we develop a photochemical modification method targeting methionine residues in proteins by utilizing the unique reactivity of triplet nitrenes. Due to the low natural abundance of methionine residues in proteins, this approach enables precise control over the number and site of modifications. This method will serve as a platform for creating homogeneous conjugates, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) with a controlled drug-to-antibody ratio (DAR), thereby contributing to the advancement of biopharmaceutical development and life science research.

Message

I aim to contribute to drug discovery in an era of diversifying modalities through our organic chemistry platform that spans from small- to middle- and macro-sized molecules.
