Constructing a transformative new commons management theory: An empirical study on the decision-making process on rice paddy dams
This study aims to examine measures for decision-making and sustainable implementation of "rice paddy dams." These dams have multifaceted value and can contribute to local flood prevention and mitigation while farming. While there has been a substantial accumulation of hydraulic and hydraulic engineering verification, such as measurement and simulation of water storage and flood control, there is a lack of social science knowledge on common land and governance. In this study, I focus on examining consensus building and systematizing a new "commons management theory" for the changing commons, where private land, used land, and common land are mixed, examining the commons on rice paddy dams as the case study.

I aim to establish a systematic study on knowledge commons and propose a new theory of community-based management as a case study of rice paddy dams. The ultimate goal is to provide policy recommendations for managing rice paddy dams within the framework of a new commons approach.
