Future prospects of foreign workers―Survey research of foreign workers in Japan―
Keyword
Summary
As of the end of June 2019, the number of foreign workers has reached 2,511,567. After the enforcement of revised immigration law in April 2019, the issue of accepting and retaining foreign workers has become urgent. However, the government offices in charge of that matter do not have enough information about the actual working situation. On the other hand, researchers in this field have different subjects and awareness of problems, hence there exist few fundamental academic studies. In this study, I plan to provide foundations for the study of foreign workers in line with the Japanese environment, by incorporating the advanced research results from oversees and conducting research on creating a new symbiotic society suitable for a multicultural society.

Message

I am very grateful and happy to have been selected for such a prestigious grant. By using the grant as research funding, I hope to develop my research and present a model for the structure of a coexisting society that is appropriate to the realities of Japan, which faces a variety of challenges, and to make practical proposals that will lead to the creation of new values for a society in which diverse people can live together in mutual aid. Through my research, I will do my best to contribute to the further development of international comparative research in Japan. Ultimately, I would be happy if I could contribute to "the world and the multicultural society".
