2024Inamori Research GrantsScience & Engineering
I would like to express my gratitude for being selected for the Inamori Foundation Research Grant. By continuing to develop this study, I will explore new possibilities as a lightweight structural material in Ti alloy.
This study aimed to introduce a unique periodic ordered structure into Ti-Zr alloys, and explored the conditions for its formation. As a result, the formation mechanism of the core compositionally modulated structure was clarified, and by adding a β-phase stabilizer as a third element, an α/β periodic ordered structure was successfully introduced. In particular, universal conditions were found for the added concentration that are independent of the element type, and a process map was obtained for controlling the periodic ordered structure.
