Theory and Construction of Insertion/Deletion Correcting Codes
In communication and storage systems, information is represented by a digital sequence. In DNA storage, which is a next-generation information storage medium, when reading a stored digital sequence, some symbols of the sequence may be duplicated or skipped.
There is a technique called "insertion/deletion correcting code" to estimate the original sequence form the sequence occurring symbol duplication and skip.
The aims of this research are to develop a mathematical theory of insertion/deletion correcting codes
and to construct high-performance codes based on the theory
