Study on fabrication of nitride-semiconductor three-dimensional photonic crystals using a regrowth technique and its application
Keyword
Summary
Three-dimensional (3D) photonic crystals which are composed of 3D periodicity in refractive indices are interesting optical media with various potential applications such as optical components or integrated photonic circuits. In particular, 3D photonic crystals made of III-nitride semiconductors with wide-bandgap are expected as novel optical media for manipulating light in the wide range of spectra from visible to ultraviolet wavelengths. This study aims experimental demonstration of high-quality 3D photonic crystals made of III-nitride semiconductors by using a regrowth technology which combines metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy method with semiconductor-lithography technique.

Message

I greatly appreciate the members of the Inamori Foundation for their support of my research. I would like to make my best effort to contribute to the development of optics/photonics technology through my novel nanofabrication research for the realization of III-nitride semiconductor three-dimensional photonic crystals. I look forward to interacting with this great researcher community. Thank you very much in advance.
