Consecutive aryne reactions for constructing novel heteroaromatic rings
Keyword
Summary
Aryne intermediates are of great significance in synthetic organic chemistry. This study aims to develop a new method to construct novel heterocycles through consecutive aryne reactions. The method will allow us to prepare a wide variety of fused heterocycles which are difficult to synthesize by conventional methods.

Message

Thank you very much for selecting me for the Inamori Research Grant. I would like to develop new methods to construct new heterocyclic rings through highly reactive intermediates "Aryne".

Outline of Research Achievments

We have developed benzdiyne equivalents having o-silylaryl triflate and o-iodoaryl triflate moieties. Treatment of the benzdiyne equivalents with fluoride ion and following activation with a silylmethyl Grignard reagent resulted in sequential aryne reactions without damaging reactive functional groups.
