Development of atomic force microscopy in heating liquid and elucidation of onset of nucleate boiling
Keyword
Summary
Boiling heat transfer that utilizes latent heat is an important way for realizing a carbon-neutral society. However, the onset of boiling at a constant temperature is not guaranteed due to the lack of technology that can measure solid-liquid interfaces at the nanoscale. In this study, we try to observe the elementary processes of the onset of nucleate boiling with the three-dimensional and nanoscopic resolution by establishing a new atomic force microscopy system.
