Elucidation of self-formation mechanism of unique periodic arrangement structure: development of titanium alloys
Keyword
Summary
The functionality of metallic materials is highly dependent on their microstructure, which is composed of various crystalline phases. The purpose of this study is the elucidation of the formation mechanism of the unique microstructure (periodically arranged microstructure with compositional modulation) found in titanium alloy. Through this, we aim to develop a high-performance titanium alloy that will contribute to "lightening transport aircraft," which is essential for solving energy and environmental issues.

Message

I would like to express my gratitude for being selected for the Inamori Foundation Research Grant. By continuing to develop this study, I will explore new possibilities as a lightweight structural material in Ti alloy.
