Research topics
Elucidation of the mechanism of human muscle relaxation through the development of an artificial muscle-driven drum playing robot
Keyword
Summary
Biological organisms change joint stiffness and skillfully utilize a relaxed state to enable diverse movements, but the mechanisms behind this are not yet fully understood. In this research, we aim to develop a percussion-playing robot using artificial muscle actuators capable of controlling joint stiffness. Through the development of its control system, we seek to elucidate the human mechanism for utilizing relaxation. This research is expected to lead to the realization of control systems that maximize the performance of actuators, similar to how athletes or musicians optimize their movements.

Comment

I want to understand the mechanisms of joint stiffness control while also creating a robot that can perform human-like motions. I believe the research outcomes will not only broaden the range of movements but also contribute to the safe collaboration between humans and robots.
