Clinical Implication of Heart Rate Optimization using Doppler Echocardiography in Patients with Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction
Keyword
Summary
We investigate optimal heart rate for patients with systolic heart failure.

Comment

This is a novel study that optimizes heart rate.

Outline of Research Achievments

Optimal heart rate in patients with systolic heart failure remains uncertain. I have proposed a formula to calculate ideal heart rate in each patient. I evaluated the patients with systolic heart failure who started ivabradine, which is a novel medication to purely decrease heart rate without hemodynamic change. The patients who achieved the optimization of their heart rate by ivabradine enjoyed the lowest cardiovascular event rate compared with those who could not achieve the heart rate optimization.
