Research topics
Targeting pro-inflammatory hematopoietic progenitors for treatment of inflammatory diseases
Keyword
Summary
In addition to its main functions of maintaining homeostasis and providing immunity, the hematopoetic system is deeply involved in the pathological condition of various diseases as it supplies blood cells that contain immunocytes. This proposed research aims to develop understanding of the hematopoietic response induced by inflammation, infection, and other forms of stress and to control it, thereby developing a novel anti-inflammatory/anti-infective therapy.

Message from recipient

With the research grant from the Inamori Foundation, I was able to put my project on a positive trajectory when, having returned home from an overseas research program, I had to start a project from scratch, and for this I feel deeply indebted. I am hoping to be able to report findings of a high quality as soon as possible.
