Elucidation of the intrahepatic immunological barrier regulated by macrophages

Summary
When the intestinal barrier function is disrupted by diet or aging, various pathogens and antigens, including symbiotic microorganisms in the intestinal lumen, can enter the body in large quantities. The liver immune system plays a crucial role in appropriately processing these invading substances, thereby contributing to the maintenance of homeostasis in both the liver and the entire body. However, if the liver immune system fails to fully process these substances, they will spread throughout the body and trigger various diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, and asthma. Therefore, in this study, I am challenging to elucidate the mechanisms of the liver immune system in detail and develop a medication to enhance its efficiency in processing the invading pathogens and antigens.
